One of the earliest Branford Lock Works cat bronze design. Shown in the 1881 supplement to the 1879 catalog as Ganymede pattern. According to Greek mythology Ganymede was abducted by Zeus in the form a of an eagle, to serve as cup-bearer in Olympus. This design was also made into a pull pull in a smaller, 2 inch size. Printed versions of VDA called this "Cherub".  Also in 1886 catalog.Branford "Extension Spindle" based on US patent 188946, March 27,1877, introduced in the 1879 Branford catalog.
