Railroad Knob
The Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers built a combination office building, union hall and auditorium just off of Public Square inCleveland, Ohio in 1910. The Engineers Building remained in active use by the BLE and tenants until 1986, when the BLE was forced to sell so that a new hotel tower could be built. The knob features the design from the wheels of a late 1800s locomotive, while the plates featured the BLE monogram. The hall doors used unit locks. This type were used on communicating (inter-office) doors.
